Williamson County Schools is a K-12 school district with approximately 32,000 students enrolled for the 2011-2012 school year. There are 41 school sites: nine high schools, eight middle schools, 23 elementary schools, and one K- 8 school. Summit High School and Clovercroft Elementary opened with the 2011-12 school year.

Projected expenditures for the 2011-12 General Purpose school fund budget are $237,942,598.

2011-2012 countywide student/teacher ratios: kindergarten through grade three 20.19:1; grades four through five – 23.97:1; grades six through eight – 20:1; high school – 22.19:1

All high schools have Advanced Placement (AP) Programs with 27 different courses offered.

Seventeen Williamson County students have been named as National Merit Scholarship Finalists for the 2010-2011 school year.

During 2009-2010 the students in Williamson County Schools achieved a 99.7 percent promotion rate.

During the 2010-2011 school year, Williamson County students continued to earn achievement scores that ranked among the highest in the State of Tennessee.

The American College Test is a graduation requirement. Our countywide score of 22.8 exceeds the national average of 21.1 and the state average of 19.5.

K-12 student attendance for 2010-2011 was 94.6 percent. That rate surpasses the Tennessee Department of Education goal of 93 percent.

A pre-kindergarten program is in place at nine elementary schools, Allendale Elementary, College Grove Elementary, Crockett Elementary, Fairview Elementary, Heritage Elementary, Hillsboro School, Longview Elementary, and Westwood Elementary. This program is designed to prepare Williamson County children who are found to be at-risk for a more successful entry into kindergarten.

Per pupil expenditure for 2010-11 was $ 7,821 excluding construction and major capital projects, as reflected by the State Report Card.

Over the past five years, our school district has grown by an average of 1150 students each year.

The schools and the central office are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

There are 2385 certificated and 1716 support personnel in the Williamson County School District.

Of the professional employees, 60 percent have attained an educational level of a Master's Degree or higher; 53 percent have a PhD or Ed.D. and 89 percent have an ED.S. The average teacher base salary is $47,500.

There are before and/or after school child care programs in all elementary schools.

The Middle College High School opened with the 1998-1999 school year. Approximately 150 students are enrolled at MCHS during the 2011-2012 school year.

Brentwood Middle, Grassland Middle and Page High Schools have obtained National Blue Ribbon School status.

Franklin High School was named as the state’s first International Baccalaureate school. Implementation of the program began during the 2000-2001 school year.

District information can also be found on Comcast 3, Charter 96 and AT&T 99. All School Board and County Commission meetings are broadcast live and replayed the next day. The School Board meets the third Monday of the month beginning at 6:30 p.m., and the County Commission meets the second Monday of the month beginning at 7 p.m. Other school district and county government programs are aired throughout the week.
